There are two leaderboard pages available for the CyberStart America program while it is live - a National Leaderboard by State, and State Leaderboards by School. The leaderboards are designed to show how states/schools rank for participation in the program, and the number of participants who have qualified to be considered for prizes awarded by the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation.

Click any of the column headers to re-order the data by whichever metric is of interest to you!

The leaderboards do not display any information about individual program participants or their point scores.

National Leaderboard by State

The numbers provided on the CyberStart America National Leaderboard are to show which states are the most engaged with the CyberStart America program, both in absolute numbers and in percentage increases, week-on-week and year-on-year.

Below is an explanation of the data contained in each column.

State

The US state or territory that participants have stated on their registration form.

Students registered

Total registered

The number of individual students who have completed the registration process for CyberStart America.

Per 10k HS population

The number of students registered, adjusted relative to the population of high school students in that state. The number in this column shows how many students out of every 10,000 in the state have registed for the program in the current cycle. This allows fairer comparison of program uptake state by state.

Weekly change

The percentage increase of students registered compared to the numbers registered one week previously.

Annual change

The percentage increase of students currently registered, compared with total students registered in that state by the end of the 2022 CyberStart program. The numbers in this column will mostly be negative in the early part of the registration cycle, and will be a better point of comparison later in the year.

Registered schools

Total registered

The number of individual schools in that state listed by participants on their registration form.

Weekly change

The percentage increase in number of schools registered, compared to the numbers registered one week previously.

Annual change

The difference (in absolute numbers, rather than percentage) between the number of schools currently registered, compared with total number of schools registered in that state by the end of the previous year's CyberStart America program. The numbers in this column will mostly be negative in the early part of the registration cycle, and will be a better point of comparison later in the year.

Students qualified as NCS Semifinalists

Total qualifiers

Number of registered students who have reached the threshold in CyberStart that qualifies them as National Cyber Scholarship Semifinalists (20,000 points in CyberStart), meaning they could be considered for scholarships and awards, subject to validation of their performance and eligibility.

Percentage qualified

Percentage of students currently registered for the CyberStart America program who have reached the qualifying threshold to be considered a National Cyber Scholarship Semifinalist (20,000 points in CyberStart game).

Weekly change

Percentage increase in the number of registered students who have reached the qualifying threshold to be a National Cyber Scholarship Semifinalist, compared to the numbers qualified one week previously.
